Regenerative furnace simulation under flameless combustion regime with natural gas and syngas

The increase in pollutant emissions has generated the development of clean technologies and encouraged use alternative fuels like syngas. Flameless combustion is one most promising due to lower pollutants high thermal efficiency. In present study, regenerative furnace simulation under flameless was carried out using a fuel mixture 70% natural gas 30% syngas with H2 content (in vol.); by mean CFD approach. A symmetrical mesh 405,632 hexahedral cells used calculations. κ-ε standard, discrete ordinates Eddy Dissipation Concept models were for physical phenomena turbulence, radiation turbulence - chemistry interaction, respectively. chambers uniformity factor 0.3 0.1 vertical horizontal planes, results confirm that it possible achieve regime addition syngas, preserving temperature reaction zone uniformity.
